BLACK EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION

A Bit About Us

Dealing with the labor challenges of today requires solidarity, foresight, and the will to fight for what is right. Black Educators Association emerged out of the need for worker representation and the desire for collective actions to speak louder than individual words. Established in 2000, we’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support.

Our objectives for the 2022-23 MDUSD Black Educators Association are:
1.)    Educating personnel on best practices for engaging African-American students.
2.)    Increasing African-American family involvement.
3.)    The recruitment and retention of quality African-American personnel.
4.)    Providing professional/emotional support & capacity building for African American staff.
This year in the MDUSD we have 250 African American Staff members (Certificated/Classified). We are seeking each Black staff member to come out and partner with us as we endeavor to make history for the 2022-23 school year!
